Adult Pilgrimages at St. Michael’s

St. John’s Abbey Pilgrimage
Collegeville, Minnesota
August 2-7, 2026

REGISTRATION OPENs: SEPT. 1

INFORMATIoN SESSION: SEPT. 16, 6:30 PM

Are you among the hundreds who have seen the “Heritage Edition” of The Saint John’s Bible displayed at St. Michael’s and have been moved to know more? Imagine seeing the original, handwritten, hand-illuminated pages in their home gallery at St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota!

Next summer, a group of us will embark on a pilgrimage to Minnesota to see the original pages, handwritten and illuminated on vellum. The campus at St. John’s will also offer other options to enhance the spiritual experience, including, but not limited to, time with the Director and Curator of The Saint John’s Bible, and visits to the woodworking and organ building workshops, the pottery studio, and the Arboretum. Attending a service at the Abbey Church will be a highlight as well.

Our journey will also include a stop at the St. Benedict Center and Christ the King Priory in Schuyler, Nebraska, where the “Heritage Edition” also resides. The Schuyler monastery hosts many groups on retreat and will provide additional spiritual experiences. One night each way, to and from Collegeville, will be spent here, and three nights on the St. John’s campus.

This pilgrimage is open to anyone who seeks what Ian Bradley writes about in his book Pilgrimage:

Pilgrimage offers a departure from everyday life in search of spiritual well-being, a sense of adventure, getting out of a rut, to broaden our horizons, or to seek new and different experiences.
