May We Never Stop Learning Christ’s Teachings
The ability and desire to learn and develop throughout our lives is one of God’s greatest gifts to humankind. St. Michael’s takes pride in offering Sunday School settings for every age, from nursery school through adulthood. Come grow with us.
During the school year, adults are invited to participate in the Adult Forum that takes place on Sunday morning from 9:15 until 10:15. The Adult Forum deals with a wide variety of topics and concerns that are designed to help one grow in their faith and understanding of Christ.
Sunday School – Middle School
The middle school group meets during Sunday School time, and their lessons are directly tied to the lectionary. What they are learning in group echoes Sunday Worship, so that the worship experience and group become a seamless garment. This age group also has a number of opportunities including special events like a Retreats, Lock-ins and a Summer Mission Trip. You can find more information on Middle School on the Youth Ministry Page.
Sunday School – Pre-school
Pre-school children, age 3 through 5, have a traditional Sunday school curriculum. The class usually includes a Bible story, crafts, playtime and a snack.
Sunday School – High School
The High School Group meets during Sunday School time. They have a lively fellowship and a lesson based on the lectionary. They participate in Retreats, Mission trips, Parties and engage in fund-raising for a tri-annual pilgrimage. Our next pilgrimage is in the research phase. It looks likely it will be a bicycle trip across Ireland. You can find more information on High School on the Youth Ministry Page.
Sunday School – Elementary
Our Sunday School for Kindergarten through grade 5 is based on a spiral education model. We have an excellent core curriculum. The emphasis is on relationships between the leader and the student. We have well trained, dedicated leaders who recognize that for each of us who follow Christ there have been important people in our lives who have modeled Christ. We strive for excellent relationships at all levels of Sunday School.
St. Michael’s provides a large, clean, well-maintained facility for our youngest children. The staff is paid and all employees are required to attend the Safeguarding God’s Children course. It is open on Sunday morning from 7:30 until Noon, as well as other times during the week to support other programs and activities.
