Nurturing

St. Michael’s is firmly committed to Christian formation for all ages. Although we believe in a strong children’s Sunday school program, it is our conviction that parents are the primary Christian educators and that our children and youth grow in faith mostly through Christian formation that takes place in the home. Therefore, we believe that Christian formation is as important for adults as it is our youngest members. While it is important that all Christians be sufficiently grounded in the scriptures, the history of the church, theology, and the sacraments, we pursue the study of each so that our lives will more fully reflect the mind and spirit of Jesus. Perhaps a phrase from the Prayer Book Confirmation service says is best when we pray that the Holy Spirit empower each of us for service. Our heart-felt hope is that the St. Michael’s community will be a place where we come to know the love of God in Christ Jesus and that both as a spiritual community and as individual Christians, we might see thee more clearly. Love thee more dearly. Follow thee more nearly. Day by day.

Following you will find information about the children, youth and adult Christian formation programs and activities that we currently offer. Always remember that the program—like each of us—is always a work in progress!
