Services
Sunday Morning
The Holy Eucharist service from the Book of Common Prayer is used at both the 8:00am and 10:30am services. Both services include a sermon which seeks to help us apply biblical truth as we try to live our lives according to the precepts of Jesus. Our worship style is both traditional and dignified, but with moments of informality. The 1982 Episcopal Hymnal is used predominantly; however, other hymns and songs are used on a regular basis. We are blessed to have one of the finest organs in Colorado accompany our singing. From September through May, our worship is enhanced by an adult, robed choir. (We are in the process of organizing a children’s choir that will sing during the 10:30 service on some Sundays during the year.) On most Third Sundays during the school year, the 10:30 service includes participation of our children, youth and families. There is also a children’s chapel for younger children at the 10:30 service. The children are dismissed during the singing of the hymn before the gospel is read and return at announcement time. The 8:00am service includes an opening and closing hymn and music during Communion. Nursery care is provided during both Sunday services.
Mid-Week Worship
Mid-week worship is held in St. Francis’ chapel and meeting room on the lower level on Tuesday morning at 11:00 and Thursday morning at 8:15. Both are quiet services of Holy Communion without music. The Thursday morning service is a contemplative service, which includes centering prayer.
Other Worship Opportunities
Special services take place during Holy Week. Taizé worship has become a part of our parish life and Taizé services occur periodically during the year. Taizé worship includes the use of candles, silence, scripture, intercession and meditative singing.
